It's Time to Play! | ID Photography | Southern MN & Twin Cities Family Photographer

I am screaming with JOY! I have literally spent the last week outdoors with my kids, soaking up the spring sun that has taken so long to appear this year!

Don't get me wrong...I LOVE having all four seasons. But the MN winter this year slayed me in a way that that was brutal this year. We were teased with warmer days and snow melting only to get slammed with snow storm after snow storm well into April.  Now having 3 boys under the age of 8 their energy levels run HIGH. So the extended time indoors has had us all more than a little on edge with each other.

But all that is past us now and it is time to PLAY.

Time to play in the old leaves from fall. Time to take adventures around a yard that we have missed while it was covered in snow. My boys have been playing hide and seek, racing their bikes and trikes up and down our gravel drive way.  We have had muddy days were clothes were they had to strip their clothes off in the front porch because they were covered in mud from all the puddles the snow left behind. And we haven't hit 70 degrees yet and they have begged to set up the sprinkler!

All their outdoor activities have reminded me how important active play and fresh air is for them. My frustration over daylight savings making it harder for them to fall asleep at bedtime because it was so bright out still is completely gone. They are so worn out and bone tired exhausted at the end of the day that there is no extra rough housing (fighting, picking on each other, etc...take your pick!) as they are tucked in.

And of course, I couldn't resist breaking out my camera to photograph all their brotherly antics as they got reacquainted with have space to roam! I hope you all grab your littles for a picnic or a day at the park or an adventure this weekend!
