Slow & Easy Saturdays | Mankato Family Photographer | ID Photography

There's nothing like waking up on a Saturday and the only major plan you have is to make pancakes.

And there isn't much you can do when a the minute a child meets you, he grabs your hand and asks if he can go on a "cat hunting" adventure. You keep your camera at ready and jump two feet into the adventure and intrigue of an energetic pixie blond haired 3yr old boy's imagination.

And fall in love with Homebound sessions all over again.

You see, that's the thing about homeboud sessions, memories are not just about documenting the milestones or the places you go. Memories live in the routine of your everyday. the quirky moments that are too fun to forget. Its understanding that normalcy is just as beautiful as an epic nature filled adventure. Don't get me wrong. Those sessions are amazing too.  But there is something equally as special about a capturing YOUR story. In YOUR space. At your own PACE.

Your home is an extension of the identity of the people who reside in it. Its a place that brings you to peace, but gives you moments that are all too real.

Its the place where a slow and easy Saturday is about bonding with your three year old while making pancakes. Which he insist on eating with his hot wheels cars. It's where your cat has a favorite spot next to your favorite books and watches your every move while you eat those pancakes and your husband builds a Lego boat with your son. It dancing to Mona in the living room and racing Lighting McQueen and his friends in the kitchen. It's soccer in the hallways and building a train track in the play room.

Its remembering that adventure doesn't always have to be found in the great outdoors when you have the imagination to see great adventures happening in your own home.
